Zodiac Recruitment are delighted to be working on behalf of a highly regarded town planning consultancy based in Leeds City Centre, who are looking to appoint a Principal Town Planner to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner to take on a leadership role within a dynamic consultancy, working on a wide variety of high-profile and exciting projects across multiple sectors.
The Role:
As a Principal Town Planner, you will play a pivotal role in leading complex planning projects, driving business development, and supporting the strategic growth of the consultancy. You will also mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall success of the planning team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing a diverse portfolio of planning projects
- Preparing and overseeing complex planning applications and appeals
- Providing high-level strategic planning advice to clients
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Identifying and contributing to business development opportunities
- Mentoring and managing junior and mid-level planners
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
Requirements:
- Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- MRTPI qualified
- Extensive experience within a planning role, ideally in consultancy
- Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and processes
- Proven track record in project management and client-facing roles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
