Senior Planning Enforcement Officer
Rate: £45–£50 per hour
Contract: 6-Month Rolling
Location: Hybrid – 1 day per week in office/site
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join a dynamic local authority team on a flexible, long-term contract basis.
This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £45–£50 and a hybrid working arrangement, requiring just one day per week on-site or in the office, with the remainder worked remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a diverse and complex enforcement caseload
- Investigating breaches of planning control and progressing cases through to resolution
- Preparing reports, notices, and evidence for appeals and legal proceedings
- Providing expert advice on enforcement matters to internal stakeholders
- Handling sensitive cases, including Gypsy and Traveller site enforcement
Requirements:
- Proven experience in planning enforcement within a local authority setting
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement procedures
- Experience dealing with Gypsy and Traveller site cases is highly desirable
- Ability to manage a mixed caseload independently
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
