Senior Planning Enforcement Officer
Location: Cumbria
Rate: £40–£50 per hour
Contract: 6 Months (initial)

We are currently assisting a Local Authority in Cumbria in the search for an experienced Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join their Planning Service on an initial 6-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied caseload of enforcement investigations and play a key role in ensuring compliance with planning legislation and protecting the local environment.
Key Responsibilities

Investigate alleged breaches of planning control, including unauthorised development and non-compliance with planning conditions.

Undertake site inspections, evidence gathering, and case management for enforcement investigations.

Prepare and serve enforcement notices, breach of condition notices, and other legal documentation where necessary.

Draft reports and statements for planning appeals, hearings, and court proceedings.

Provide professional advice to members, residents, developers, and stakeholders on planning enforcement matters.

Work closely with legal services and planning colleagues to resolve complex enforcement cases.

Monitor compliance with planning permissions, obligations, and enforcement notices.
