Minerals & Waste Planning Specialists – Officer to Principal

Rate: £40–£60 per hour
Location: UK (Hybrid / Remote Opportunities Available)

We are currently seeking experienced Minerals & Waste Planning Specialists to join a range of Local Authority clients across the UK. Opportunities are available from Planning Officer through to Principal Planner level, offering flexible working arrangements and competitive rates.

These roles provide the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of sustainable mineral extraction and waste management strategies, supporting authorities in managing planning applications, developing policy, and ensuring compliance with environmental and planning legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and determine minerals and waste planning applications in accordance with local and national policy.

• Provide pre-application advice to developers, consultants, and stakeholders.

• Prepare committee reports, appeal statements, and planning recommendations.

• Engage with key stakeholders including industry, communities, and statutory consultees.

• Contribute to enforcement, monitoring, and compliance where required.
