Assistant Planner to Principal Planner – Cardiff | Planning Consultancy
Are you a motivated Town Planner looking for your next step in a supportive and growing consultancy? We’re working with a well-established planning consultancy based in Cardiff that is looking to expand its team with appointments ranging from Assistant Planner through to Principal Planner level.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected firm with a strong pipeline of projects across residential, mixed-use, commercial, and strategic land developments throughout Wales and the wider UK.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and an increasing project workload, our client is seeking talented planners at multiple levels to strengthen their Cardiff office. Whether you're at the early stages of your planning career or already operating at a senior level, the company offers a collaborative environment with clear progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities (level dependent)
- Supporting and managing planning applications and appeals
- Preparing planning appraisals, reports, and strategy documents
- Liaising with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders
- Contributing to site promotions and local plan representations
- Managing projects and mentoring junior staff (Senior/Principal level)
About You
- Degree or Masters in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Working towards or already holding RTPI membership (or equivalent)
- Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage workload and client relationships (Senior/Principal level)
