About the Role
Are you looking to take the next step in your planning career with an independent consultancy that values your expertise? You'll be joining a respected planning practice in Manchester, providing specialist advice and planning services to the development industry including landowners, developers, occupiers, and investors. Their projects vary across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice, managing applications, and shaping developments that make a real impact.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Town Planner, you'll be involved in all aspects of the planning process from initial site appraisals through to submission and appeal. You'll build strong relationships with clients and planning authorities while developing your professional skills within a dynamic consultancy environment.
You will:
·Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals
·Produce Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, and site appraisals
·Provide strategic planning advice to clients across multiple sectors
·Liaise with Local Planning Authorities, consultees, and external consultants
You'll gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of work, giving you the opportunity to broaden your experience and take ownership of projects as your confidence grows.
What You'll Bring
You'll be enthusiastic about planning, commercially aware, and eager to deliver the highest standard of service to clients. You'll be someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes initiative, and thrives on seeing projects come to life.
You will also have:
·A degree and postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Town Planning, Urban Design, Geography)
·RTPI membership (or working towards chartered status)
·A good understanding of the UK planning system and development process
