Town Planner – Newcastle
Location: Newcastle / Full-time / Salary: £30k - £35k DOE
We are recruiting on behalf of a multidisciplinary consultancy operating at the forefront of the built environment sector. Our client is looking for an experienced Town Planner to join their well-established planning team in the Newcastle office.
The Role:
As a Town Planner, you’ll play an active role in a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Collaborating closely with senior team members, you’ll gain practical experience managing complex planning applications and take part in all stages of the planning process—from initial site appraisal through to final determination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit planning applications and support the management of appeal processes.
- Conduct site assessments and undertake background research to shape planning strategies.
- Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, and a range of project stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of planning reports, statements, and other supporting documentation.
- Provide support to senior planners on complex or large-scale development projects.
Requirements:
- A degree accredited by the RTPI, or an equivalent planning-related qualification.
- MRTPI accreditation (or working actively towards chartered status).
- Previous experience in a planning consultancy or local authority environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- A proactive approach, with genuine enthusiasm for town planning and sustainable development.
