Hybrid Working – Office/Site Presence Once Per Fortnight

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Planning Officer to support a busy local authority planning team in East Anglia on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with strong development management experience looking for a flexible hybrid contract role.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of Complex minor planning applications
• Assessing applications and preparing officer reports
• Providing professional planning advice to applicants and stakeholders
• Liaising with consultees, councillors, and members of the public
• Supporting the wider planning team with development management duties

Requirements

• Previous experience working within a UK local authority planning team
• Strong knowledge of development management and planning legislation
• Ability to independently manage minor applications from validation to decision
• MRTPI qualification desirable but not essential
• Excellent written communication and stakeholder management skills

The Offer

• Competitive rate of £40–45 per hour
• Flexible hybrid arrangement
• Office/site attendance required only once every two weeks
• Initial 3–6 month contract with potential extension
