Associate / Senior Associate – Commercial Planning

📍 London | Full-time

A leading UK property consultancy is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its expanding Commercial Planning team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to play a key role within a highly regarded planning practice, working across a broad range of major commercial development projects throughout the UK.

The team advises leading developers, investors, financial institutions, operators and landowners across sectors including retail and leisure, industrial and logistics, data centres, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, roadside services and town centre regeneration.

The successful candidate will work closely with Partners while also taking ownership of projects, clients and external consultant teams. The role offers significant client exposure, leadership opportunities and the chance to contribute to the continued growth of a dynamic and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing planning strategies and leading project delivery
  • Preparing, reviewing and coordinating planning applications, appeals and representations
  • Providing planning advice directly to clients and stakeholders
  • Leading internal and external meetings, including with local authorities and project teams
  • Supporting business development and helping grow the team’s profile across target sectors
  • Managing project budgets and contributing to fee proposals
  • Mentoring and supporting planners and senior planners within the team
  • Contributing to innovation, thought leadership and the integration of AI and new working practices

About You

  • MRTPI and/or RICS (Planning & Development) qualified
  • Strong commercial planning experience gained in consultancy or a comparable environment
  • Commercially aware with a strong focus on client service
  • Experience in retail policy assessments would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Collaborative, proactive and confident working both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
