Planner / Senior Planner – Commercial Planning

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a leading UK property consultancy’s growing Commercial Planning team in London.
This is a fantastic chance to work within one of the UK’s largest planning teams, advising major developers, investors, operators and landowners on a wide range of high-profile commercial projects across the country.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of schemes including retail and leisure, industrial and logistics, data centres, roadside services, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and town centre regeneration projects.
You will work closely with Partners and senior team members across multiple projects, helping to shape planning strategies, prepare and submit planning applications and appeals, and provide advice to clients, consultants and local authorities. The role offers excellent client exposure and genuine opportunities for career progression and specialisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation of planning strategies and project programmes
- Drafting reports, planning statements and appeal submissions
- Coordinating planning applications, representations and related documentation
- Attending client, consultant and local authority meetings
- Assisting with fee proposals, bids and presentations
- Supporting graduate and junior team development
- Contributing to innovation, thought leadership and new working practices, including AI integration
About You
- MRTPI and/or RICS (Planning & Development) qualified
- Experience within commercial planning consultancy or local authority
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commercially aware with a client-focused approach
- Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
- Experience in retail policy assessments would be advantageous
