We are looking for a professional with an excellent knowledge of planning to work in our forward-thinking, innovative and friendly team. You will be given the chance to work on a wide range of projects and opportunities to develop your career in a great environment.

Now is an exciting time of growth across Blaby District; where you will determine a comprehensive range of application and development types, ranging from bespoke rural schemes to large-scale commercial development.

Whether you are wanting to take your first step into formal management, or are an experienced leader, we are looking for the successful candidate to manage and mentor five planning officers of varying degrees of experience.

We are positive, customer focused and passionate about creating a great place to live, work and visit. We will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the organisation.

To find out more about the role, please contact Glen Baker-Adams, Development Services and Enforcement Manager on 0116 272 7565.

Benefits of working with us include a local government pension scheme, exciting career opportunities, flexible working including a flexi-time scheme and out of town offices with free car parking and cycle bays.

We also support hybrid working arrangements with a combination of onsite and home working.

Internal applicants can apply for this exciting opportunity via ITrent Employee Self Service (ESS). Once logged in, if you click on the person icon in the top corner of the home screen and then on ‘useful links’, another link will appear called ‘Apply for a Job’ (web recruitment).

Please ensure you give specific examples of how you meet the requirements in the person specification to give you the best possible opportunity of being shortlisted.

Blaby District Council is committed to equality of opportunity for all, and we welcome applications from all diversities. We are committed to the employment and career development of disabled people, care leavers and those in the Armed Forces. As a Disability Confident Employer and to show our commitment to Care Leavers and the Armed Forces Covenant, we offer a Guaranteed Interview Scheme.
