Planning Enforcement Officer (Part-Time)
West Midlands | £35 per hour | 3–4 Month Contract
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer to join a local authority in the West Midlands on a part-time basis.
This is an initial 3–4 month contract with a competitive rate of £35 per hour, offering flexible working and the chance to make an immediate impact within a busy planning team.
The Role
You will play a key role in investigating and resolving breaches of planning control, helping to ensure development is carried out in line with legislation and policy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of enforcement investigations
- Conducting site visits and gathering evidence
- Preparing reports and progressing enforcement action
- Liaising with stakeholders, including the public, councillors and internal teams
- Ensuring cases are handled in line with planning legislation and council policy
Requirements
- Previous experience in planning enforcement within a UK local authority
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement procedures
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Full UK driving licence (desirable for site visits)
