Penguin Recruitment is working with an established and growing residential developer to recruit an Assistant Town Planner to join their planning team in Hampshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planning professional looking to develop their career within the private sector, gaining exposure to a varied portfolio of residential developments and playing an active role in bringing new homes forward.

Working closely with senior colleagues and the wider development team, the successful Assistant Town Planner will support the planning process from initial site promotion through to securing planning permissions, helping to unlock development opportunities across the region.

The Role:

• Assist with the preparation and submission of planning applications for residential developments.
• Support the promotion of strategic land and new development opportunities through the planning system.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and other key stakeholders.
• Undertake planning research, policy reviews and site appraisals.
• Monitor planning applications and assist with managing the planning process through to determination.
• Support the preparation of planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Work collaboratively with internal land, technical and development teams.

About You:

• A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Ideally some experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or housebuilder, although graduate applications will be considered.
• A good understanding of the UK planning system and relevant planning policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, proactive and keen to develop within a commercial planning environment.
• A genuine interest in residential development and the housebuilding industry.
