Senior Planner - Major Sites
£40-45 p/h (Depending on experience)

Take the lead on high-profile strategic development sites and help shape major growth across the area. You will manage complex planning applications, provide technical expertise and work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver the Council's planning and wider corporate objectives.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of your own caseload while supporting Principal Planners during a busy period for the Major Sites Team.
Key responsibilities:
·Act as lead planning officer for allocated strategic development sites
·Project manage complex major planning applications from submission through to determination
·Manage your own caseload and assist Principal Planners with major strategic sites
·Assess consultations and prepare reports, recommendations and delegated decisions
·Ensure applications are determined in accordance with planning legislation, Council procedures and agreed timescales
·Work collaboratively with planners, urban designers, landscape architects, ecologists and public open space officers
·Provide technical planning expertise to support Major Sites and wider corporate policy objectives
·Attend Planning Committee and present applications when required
Requirements:
·Strong Development Management experience, including major or strategic development sites
·Experience managing complex planning applications and coordinating multidisciplinary input
·Comprehensive knowledge of planning legislation, policy and decision-making procedures
·Confidence preparing robust reports and recommendations for delegated and committee decisions
·Ability to present complex applications clearly at Planning Committee
·priorities and work effectively within a busy Major Sites Team
