Are you a recent Planning graduate ready to take the next step in your career with an established and experienced planning team?

I’m currently recruiting for a Graduate Town Planner opportunity in Cambridge, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a varied portfolio of planning projects. You’ll work closely with experienced planners, develop your technical knowledge and professional skills, and benefit from a structured graduate training programme designed to support your long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of planning statements and planning appraisals
  • Support the delivery of a range of planning projects, including larger and more complex schemes
  • Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals
  • Assist clients throughout the planning and development process
  • Assess and appraise new development opportunities
  • Undertake planning policy research and analysis
  • Assist with the preparation of Design and Access Statements where appropriate
  • Manage a variety of planning applications and monitor progress and outcomes
  • Support community engagement and consultation activities
  • Attend planning committee meetings and public examinations
  • Participate in site visits and client meetings
  • Assist with preparing fee proposals and project scopes

About You

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related subject, ideally RTPI-accredited
  • A clear interest in town planning and a genuine desire to develop a career in the sector
  • Previous planning experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a team
  • A proactive, motivated and ambitious approach to professional development
  • Transferable skills and relevant experience are encouraged, and we welcome applications from candidates who may not meet every requirement
