A well-run Local Authority is seeking an experienced Development Management Team Leader to join the service on an initial 6-month rolling contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
What's on offer?
- £60+ per hour (Inside IR35)
- Approx. £5,740 take-home per month after tax (depending on your individual circumstances)
- Initial 6-month contract with rolling extensions
- Hybrid working – just 1 day per week in the office
- Manage a small, experienced team of up to 5 officers
- Flexible start date – the council is happy to wait 4–5 weeks for the right candidate
The Role
You'll lead a high-performing Development Management team, providing day-to-day leadership, mentoring officers, managing workloads, and supporting the determination of planning applications. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a stable team where you can make an immediate impact.
About You
- Previous experience as a Development Management Team Leader or a senior planner with management experience within a UK Local Authority.
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation and Development Management processes.
- Confident leading and developing a team while maintaining high service standards.
