Town Planner / Senior Planner - Cardiff

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Town Planner or Senior Planner to join a growing and well-established planning consultancy based in Cardiff. Due to continued expansion and an increasing workload, we are looking for ambitious, enthusiastic and motivated planning professionals to join our dynamic team.
This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects across England and Wales, spanning multiple sectors and ranging from strategic site promotions to heritage and conservation schemes. You will work closely with experienced professionals while developing your own client-facing, project management and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, reviewing and editing planning reports, statements and supporting documentation.
- Managing planning applications and appeals on behalf of a wide range of clients.
- Liaising directly with clients, local planning authorities, statutory consultees and other stakeholders.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams including architects, landscape architects, engineers, surveyors and construction professionals.
- Providing planning and development consultancy advice across a variety of projects.
- Attending meetings, site visits, hearings and appeals as required.
- Researching and analysing planning policy, legislation and development opportunities.
About You
We are seeking candidates with experience in either the public or private sector, ideally within Development Management or planning consultancy.
Essential Requirements
- Degree and/or Master's qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the planning process.
- Strong attention to detail alongside the ability to see the wider strategic picture.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and online research tools.
Desirable Requirements
- MRTPI membership or eligibility for membership.
- Experience working at Planner or Senior Planner level.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
