We are seeking a motivated Transport Planner to join an established and expanding team in Birmingham. This position offers the chance to work on a wide variety of projects across the residential, commercial, logistics, education and mixed-use sectors, supporting developments from initial feasibility through to planning approval.
The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic consultancy environment, working alongside experienced transport planning professionals on both local and nationwide schemes.
Key Responsibilities
• Producing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Framework Travel Plans
• Supporting the delivery of planning applications and transport strategies
• Carrying out traffic and transport data analysis
• Assisting with junction modelling and operational assessments
• Preparing technical reports and presenting findings clearly to clients and stakeholders
• Liaising with local authorities, developers and multidisciplinary consultant teams
• Managing project deadlines and supporting multiple live projects simultaneously
Candidate Requirements
• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a similar discipline
• Experience working within a transport planning or infrastructure consultancy
• Understanding of transport policy, development planning and highway design principles
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Desirable Skills
• Familiarity with software such as ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig or TRICS
• Working towards or holding membership with CIHT, TPS or a related professional body
