A Local Authority client is looking to appoint an experienced Principal Planning Officer to support a busy Development Management team on a long-term interim basis.
This role will focus on a varied caseload of major housing developments, alongside handling public enquiries and planning appeals. You’ll play a key role in progressing significant applications while working closely with internal stakeholders, developers, and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing major residential and mixed-use planning applications
- Dealing with public enquiries and stakeholder engagement
- Preparing and handling planning appeals
- Providing professional planning advice and recommendations
- Supporting wider Development Management functions where required
Requirements:
- Previous Local Authority planning experience
- Strong background in major applications and housing schemes
- Experience handling appeals and public-facing planning matters
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced team
