We are currently recruiting for an Associate Planner to join a well-established and respected planning consultancy in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take on a senior role within a growing team, working across a diverse range of high-profile projects throughout Oxfordshire and the wider South East.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex planning projects, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members while contributing to the continued success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing planning projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and strategic developments
- Preparing and reviewing planning applications, appeals, and planning appraisals
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients
- Liaising with local authorities, consultants, stakeholders, and clients
- Leading client meetings and managing project delivery timelines
- Supporting business development initiatives and networking opportunities
- Mentoring and supporting junior planners within the team
Candidate Requirements
- MRTPI qualified
- Proven experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy
- Experience managing a varied portfolio of planning projects
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills
- Commercially aware with strong client management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
