Job Title: Town Planner
Location: Bristol

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected environmental and planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Bristol.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Town Planner to join a multidisciplinary consultancy, working across a wide range of projects including residential, infrastructure, environmental, and commercial developments. The successful candidate will benefit from working alongside specialists in related fields, gaining valuable experience in a collaborative environment.


THE ROLE

As a Town Planner, you will be involved in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission and determination.

You will manage your own smaller schemes while supporting senior team members on more complex developments, building your expertise as a Town Planner within a dynamic and forward-thinking team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing smaller planning applications from start to finish
• Supporting senior planners on larger and more complex projects
• Preparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documentation
• Undertaking site appraisals and planning policy research
• Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
• Attending client meetings, site visits, and consultations
• Supporting project coordination and delivery
• Working collaboratively with environmental and technical teams


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
• MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership
• Previous experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• A proactive and collaborative approach
