Senior Town Planner
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Town Planner to join our growing team in Leeds. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects across West Yorkshire and the wider North of England, supporting the delivery of sustainable development and vibrant communities in a fast-growing city region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a varied portfolio of planning applications and development projects
- Provide high-quality planning advice to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications, appeals, and supporting reports
- Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants, and community groups
- Undertake site appraisals, planning research, and feasibility assessments
- Support and mentor junior members of the planning team
- Monitor changes in local and national planning policy, including Leeds Local Plan developments
- Represent clients at planning committees, hearings, and public consultations
Requirements
- Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field
- Chartered membership of the RTPI (or working towards)
- Demonstrable experience in a planning role (public or private sector)
- Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and policy
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments in the North of England
- Project management experience
- Commercial awareness and client-facing experience
