I’m currently working with a Local Authority seeking an experienced Planning Policy Team Leader / Manager to support their team at a critical stage of the Local Plan.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a lead role as the plan moves through final consultation and towards submission, managing key workstreams and guiding a policy team through delivery.

📌 Key details:
-6-month contract
-Hybrid working – office presence required just once every 2–3 weeks
-Rate dependent on experience
-Potential to operate outside IR35
-Authority able to wait up to 4 weeks for the right candidate

💼 The role:
-Lead and manage the Planning Policy team through a key Local Plan stage
-Oversee consultation responses and preparation for submission
-Work closely with stakeholders, members, and consultants
-Translate complex planning issues into clear, deliverable policy
-Planning Policy Team Leaders typically play a crucial role in leading policy preparation, stakeholder engagement, and Local Plan delivery, ensuring alignment with national and local planning objectives
