Senior Town Planner – West Midlands
Location: Telford (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £35k - £48k (DOE)
Job Type: Full-time (part-time considered)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Senior Town Planner to join a growing and dynamic planning consultancy based near Telford. The Role
You will be involved in a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including retail, commercial, and environmental planning, with exposure to work in rural contexts. The role requires a proactive and adaptable approach to delivering planning solutions and supporting development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking planning policy and site history research
- Preparing planning strategies to secure permissions
- Writing planning statements and design & access statements
- Managing and submitting planning applications
- Liaising and negotiating with local authority officers
- Working directly with clients and coordinating with external consultants
- Supporting the delivery of a wide range of development projects
About You
- Previous private sector planning experience (essential)
- Ideally MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in town planning
- Commercial awareness and strong client-facing skills
- A proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
