A well-established and highly regarded independent planning consultancy is seeking a Senior/Principal Town Planner to join its growing team in the South East.

The Role
The successful candidate will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects, managing schemes from initial site appraisal through to planning applications and appeals. You will work closely with clients, providing strategic advice and ensuring successful planning outcomes.

This role also offers the opportunity to support junior team members and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing planning applications and appeals through the full lifecycle

• Preparing high-quality planning statements and strategic advice

• Undertaking site appraisals and feasibility studies

• Liaising with clients, local authorities, and consultants

• Managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively

• Supporting and mentoring junior staff

• Assisting with client development and maintaining strong relationships

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

• MRTPI qualified

• Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority

• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and policy

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
