Job Title: Town Planner / Senior Town Planner
Location: Gatwick (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

A well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy in the South East is looking to appoint a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner to join its growing team based in Gatwick.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice across a broad range of development sectors. The firm works with a diverse client base including developers, land promoters, property companies, and private clients, and has a strong pipeline of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

The Role
The successful candidate will support and manage a variety of planning projects from early-stage site appraisals through to planning applications and appeals. The role offers exposure to a wide range of development projects and the opportunity to work closely with experienced planners in a collaborative environment.

For more experienced candidates, there will be opportunities to manage projects, lead client relationships, and mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals

  • Producing planning statements and supporting reports

  • Undertaking site appraisals and development feasibility assessments

  • Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders

  • Advising clients on planning strategy and policy

  • Supporting project management and delivery across multiple schemes

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

  • MRTPI qualified, or working towards chartership

  • Previous experience in a planning consultancy or local authority environment

  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and policy framework

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
