An established private sector planning consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner to take the next step in their career while working on a diverse portfolio of development projects.

The Opportunity

You will join a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy delivering planning advice across a wide range of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. The role offers the chance to manage your own projects, work closely with clients and play an important role in the continued success of the planning team.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing planning projects from initial feasibility through to determination

• Preparing and submitting planning applications and supporting reports

• Providing strategic planning advice to clients

• Supporting and managing planning appeals where required

• Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams

• Supporting junior planners and contributing to team development

About You

The consultancy is looking for a motivated and commercially aware planner who enjoys working in a fast-paced consultancy environment.

You will likely have:

• Several years’ experience within a planning consultancy, developer, or private sector planning environment

• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system

• Experience managing residential and/or commercial planning applications

• Excellent report writing and communication skills

• Membership of, or working towards membership of, the Royal Town Planning Institute
