We are currently partnering with a well-established and growing planning consultancy in Birmingham that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Town Planner to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role delivering a wide range of high-profile development projects across the region.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will play an important role in leading and managing planning projects from initial feasibility through to determination. You will provide strategic planning advice to clients, manage planning applications and appeals, and support the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of planning projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
- Preparing and submitting complex planning applications and appeals
- Producing high-quality planning reports, statements, and supporting documentation
- Advising clients on planning strategy and development potential
- Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Mentoring and supporting junior planners within the team
About You
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
- MRTPI qualified (or close to achieving chartership)
- Several years’ experience within a planning consultancy or local authority
- Strong report writing, project management, and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
