An established and growing UK housebuilder is looking to recruit a Land & Planning Graduate to join its regional team in Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their career within the land and planning function of a leading residential developer.
With a strong pipeline of developments and ambitious growth plans, the business is seeking a motivated individual who is eager to develop their career within a fast-paced and commercially focused land and planning environment.
The Role
As a Land & Planning Graduate, you will be part of a collaborative regional team working closely with colleagues across Land, Planning and Technical departments to support the identification and delivery of new residential development opportunities.
You will follow a structured development programme designed to help you build the technical, commercial and professional skills needed to progress your career within the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and researching potential land opportunities
- Assisting in the preparation of land bids and land approval submissions
- Reviewing planning policy and development constraints relating to potential sites
- Supporting the preparation of pre-application enquiries and planning applications
- Liaising with landowners, land agents and external consultants
- Assisting with weekly and monthly reporting for land and planning activities
- Attending internal land and technical meetings
- Providing administrative and project support to the regional land and planning teams
This role will give you exposure to the full development lifecycle, from initial site identification through to planning and delivery.
About You
This opportunity would suit a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career in land promotion, planning or residential development.
Candidates should ideally have:
- A relevant degree in Planning, Real Estate, Property, or a related discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Confidence engaging with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners
- A full UK driving licence
Previous experience in planning, development or housebuilding would be beneficial but is not essential.
