An award-winning, independent planning and development consultancy is looking to recruit a Graduate Planner to join its Thames Valley team in 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate to begin their career in a highly respected consultancy that works on some of the UK’s most significant and high-profile development projects. The successful candidate will gain early responsibility, exposure to major clients, and the opportunity to develop their professional skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Opportunity
As a Graduate Planner, you will be part of a dynamic team advising clients across a diverse portfolio of development projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use and strategic land developments.
From the outset, you will play an active role in supporting planning strategies and delivering high-quality consultancy advice.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Undertaking planning policy and site research
- Assisting with planning appraisals and development strategies
- Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
- Contributing to planning statements, reports and supporting documents
- Engaging with clients, local authorities and consultant teams
- Assisting senior colleagues in the delivery of major development projects
This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience across the full planning process, helping shape development proposals from early concept through to planning consent.
Training & Development
You will join a structured graduate training programme designed to develop both your technical knowledge and professional skills. The consultancy is committed to supporting graduates through the process of becoming a Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

About You
Applicants should demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for planning and development.
Ideal candidates will have:
- A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
- A Master’s degree in an RTPI or RICS accredited subject (completed or expected)
- Strong research, analytical and report-writing skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- A proactive, motivated approach and a passion for shaping the built environment
