💰 £45,000 – £55,000 + Bonus (DOE)
An established and growing planning consultancy in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Senior Planner to support its continued expansion.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planner with around 4–5 years’ experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a focused and ambitious team. The role offers strong client exposure and involvement across a varied portfolio of development projects.
The Role
You will work across a range of residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes, taking ownership of projects from initial appraisal through to determination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals
- Undertaking site appraisals and developing planning strategies
- Drafting high-quality planning statements and supporting documentation
- Liaising with clients, local authorities and external consultants
- Supporting senior colleagues on larger or strategic schemes
- Contributing to project delivery and maintaining strong client relationships
This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident managing their own workload and delivering commercially sound planning advice.
About You
- RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
- MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
- Approximately 4–5 years’ experience within consultancy (preferably) or local authority
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, proactive and commercially aware
- Willing to be office-based in Birmingham at least 4 days per week
