As a specialist recruiter partnering with a highly regarded planning consultancy in Edinburgh, I’m pleased to be supporting the hire of a Town Planner to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner at the early stages of their professional career who is keen to develop within a supportive, commercially focused environment. The firm has built a strong reputation across Scotland for delivering clear, strategic planning advice across residential, mixed-use, commercial and rural developments.
The Role
Working alongside experienced consultants, you will play a key role in supporting a broad range of planning projects from initial appraisal through to determination.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications
- Conducting site appraisals and planning research
- Preparing reports, supporting statements and appeal documentation
- Liaising with local authorities, clients and key stakeholders
- Supporting senior colleagues on larger strategic projects
About You
- Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Working towards (or keen to work towards) MRTPI accreditation
- Experience within consultancy or local authority planning (ideal but not essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, proactive and eager to learn
