Senior Town Planner

Location: Gatwick / Crawley (Hybrid Working Available)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join a well-established and growing planning consultancy in their Gatwick office.

This role offers the chance to work within a dynamic and collaborative team delivering high-quality planning advice across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the Southeast.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will take ownership of a varied caseload, managing projects from initial appraisal through to determination. You will provide clear, commercially focused advice to clients while building strong relationships with local authorities and key stakeholders.

Projects span residential, commercial, mixed-use and community developments, offering genuine variety and responsibility.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing planning applications and appeals
• Preparing site appraisals, planning statements and supporting documentation
• Providing strategic planning advice to a broad client base
• Liaising with planning officers, consultants and stakeholders
• Supporting junior team members where appropriate
• Contributing to business development and client relationship management

About You

The successful candidate will bring:

• MRTPI qualification (or working towards)
• Circa 5+ years’ experience in planning (private consultancy preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of the UK planning system
• Experience managing applications independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, commercially aware approach
