Regional Planning Manager
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

The Role
A leading regional housebuilder is seeking a Regional Planning Manager to support continued growth across its West Yorkshire business. This is a key role within the regional team, working closely with Land, Technical and Commercial colleagues to secure planning approvals that support land acquisition, development delivery and future business growth.
The role would suit an experienced Planner or Planning Manager with a strong track record of securing commercially deliverable consents. Candidates looking to step up into a managerial position will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities

Provide planning input to land appraisals, including clear advice on risk, opportunity and planning gain

Manage planning applications through the full lifecycle, liaising directly with Local Planning Authorities

Coordinate consultants to ensure applications meet local and national policy requirements

Negotiate planning obligations and manage Section 106 agreements alongside legal teams

Oversee discharge of planning conditions and ensure compliance across sites

Monitor planning policy changes and assess implications for the regional portfolio

Support site start programmes and ensure planning matters do not impact delivery targets

Prepare reports, updates and recommendations on planning performance and risk
About You
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience within town planning

Background in consultancy, housebuilding or local authority planning

Proven ability to secure planning permissions that are commercially viable

Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills

Commercially aware, organised and confident managing multiple sites

Senior-level candidates with strong project delivery experience are also welcomed
