About the Role
This role is for candidates with a Town Planning or related qualification. You must hold a full clean driving licence and provide your own car for work.
The Development Compliance Team investigates breaches of planning control, such as building work and changes of use without planning permission. As a senior team member, you will collect and process evidence, guide colleagues, and help achieve the Planning Service objectives.
You will work closely with Planning Officers, Building Control Surveyors, and Neighbourhood Officers to ensure developments comply with approved plans and, where necessary, take formal enforcement action.
About You
You will have significant experience in Development Management or Planning enforcement/compliance, able to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and legislation. You should be comfortable working under limited supervision, leading projects, and supervising team members.
You will also be required to collect evidence to support prosecution, serve enforcement notices, and present evidence as an expert witness at hearings or courts.
