Town Planner – West Midlands
Location: West Midlands / Full-time / Salary: £30k - £40k DOE
I am working with a multidisciplinary consultancy that’s looking for a Town Planner to join their office in West Midlands.
The Role:
As a Town Planner, you’ll work on a wide range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Collaborating closely with senior planners, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience across all stages of the planning process — from initial site appraisals to application submission and determination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit planning applications, supporting documentation, and appeals.
- Conduct site appraisals and research to shape effective planning strategies.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Assist in drafting planning reports, statements, and technical documents.
- Support senior planners on complex or large-scale development projects.
Requirements:
- A relevant RTPI-accredited degree or equivalent planning-related qualification.
- MRTPI status or actively working towards chartered membership.
- Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, high-quality reports.
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a genuine passion for planning and development.
