Assistant Planner – North West (UK)

Location: North West England (flexible hybrid working available)
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, permanent

Are you passionate about shaping places and supporting sustainable development? We’re looking for a motivated Assistant Planner to join our growing planning team in the North West.

As an Assistant Planner, you’ll be part of a dynamic and supportive environment where you can develop your professional skills and work on a wide range of exciting projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.


What You’ll Do

  • Support senior planners in preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
  • Assist with site appraisals, planning policy research, and development feasibility studies
  • Engage with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders throughout the planning process
  • Prepare high-quality planning statements, reports, and supporting documents
  • Help coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred)
  • Working towards or interested in working towards MRTPI chartership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive attitude with good organisational and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation
  • Previous experience in a consultancy or local authority is an advantage, but not essential
