Senior Planner



Overview



Penguin Recruitment are working with Ireland's largest Planning and Environmental consultancy, seeking a Planning Practitioner to join our Planning team. The successful candidate will work on diverse projects in commercial development, residential, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Galway or Dublin.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planner on medium to large-scale planning projects
  • Draft and review planning reports and documentation
  • Project manage including budget, stakeholders, and design team members
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Undertake background research, field visits, and prepare planning assessments
  • Engage with relevant authorities and stakeholders in planning projects
  • Deliver project outputs within set deadlines



Qualifications

  • Qualification in Town Planning (IPI or RTPI Accredited)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in planning consultancy or similar
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Irish planning system and relevant legislation
  • Commercial awareness



Day-to-day



The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects, utilizing their skills acquired through formal training and previous work experience. They will lead on planning projects, interact with project stakeholders, and deliver high-quality project outputs within set deadlines.
