Senior Planner

Galway or Dublin

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting one of Ireland's leading multi-disciplinary consultancies in the search for a Senior Planner to join their well-established Planning team, based in either Galway or Dublin.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. You will work closely with a high-performing, collaborative team, while also acting as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and project partners.

This role will suit a motivated and experienced planner with strong knowledge of the Irish planning system and recent experience in renewable energy or infrastructure planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of planning applications for renewable energy projects.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members.
  • Oversee planning inputs and review key deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Engage with local authorities, statutory bodies, and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure all planning work is completed in line with project deadlines and quality expectations.


About You
  • A recognised planning qualification (IPI or RTPI accredited).
  • Experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Strong understanding of Irish planning legislation and its application to renewable energy projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven project leadership and stakeholder management experience.
  • Full driving licence required.
