Heritage Consultant –Opportunity in Buckinghamshire

Opportunity for a Heritage Consultant to join a highly respected heritage and town planning consultancy based in Buckinghamshire. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a Heritage Consultant, you will provide expert advice and support on heritage and archaeological matters, working closely with clients, planning colleagues, developers, architects, and local authorities. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with heritage and planning legislation while contributing to a variety of heritage assessments and planning applications.

  • Provide specialist advice on heritage and archaeology issues, ensuring compliance with national planning policies and heritage legislation
  • Prepare Heritage Statements, Archaeological Desk Based Assessments, Impact Assessments, and other documentation for planning applications
  • Assess the significance of heritage assets and provide recommendations to clients on how to preserve or enhance their value
  • Liaise with local planning authorities, Historic England, and other stakeholders on heritage-related matters
  • Conduct site visits and heritage appraisals to assess potential impacts of proposed developments  

 

HERITAGE CONSULTANT - DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree-qualified in Archaeology, Architecture, Planning, or a related discipline
  • Experience in a heritage consultancy, planning consultancy, or similar role
  • Experience in preparing heritage assessments and statements
  • In-depth knowledge of UK heritage legislation, including the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 and the NPPF
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly
