Assistant Town Planner - Private Sector Projects | London | £30,000 - £38,000

A prestigious planning consultancy in central London is seeking an ambitious Assistant Town Planner to join their growing team. This is a rare opportunity to work with one of the most respected firms in the industry, known for delivering some of the capital's most complex and high-profile planning schemes.

The Role

You'll be joining a dynamic team of planning professionals who advise on a wide range of major developments across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and infrastructure sectors. This role is ideally suited to a planner with early private sector experience who is looking to deepen their exposure to large-scale projects and strategic planning work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting senior planners and directors on planning applications, appeals, and policy representations

Conducting research and preparing reports, planning statements, and design & access statements

Engaging with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders throughout the planning process

Contributing to the preparation and submission of major planning applications

Helping to manage project timelines and deliverables in a collaborative team setting

About You

MRTPI (or working towards chartered status)

Around 1-3 years' experience in a planning consultancy or similar private sector environment

Strong understanding of the UK planning system and London-specific policy context

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ambition, initiative, and a genuine interest in complex urban development
