Assistant Planner

Location: Stevenage

Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a a long-standing architecture and planning consultancy in their search for an assistant planner. They are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Assistant Planner to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the planning team in delivering a wide range of planning projects across East Anglia, London, and the M1 Corridor. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong interest in town planning and a desire to contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and submitting planning applications
  • Conduct research and analysis to support planning projects
  • Liaise with stakeholders including local authorities, developers, and community groups
  • Contribute to the preparation of planning reports and documents
  • Assist in conducting site visits and assessments


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or related field
  • Understanding of planning legislation and policies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in relevant planning software and tools


Day-to-day

  • Collaborate with the planning team to develop innovative and sustainable planning solutions
  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to ensure inclusive and diverse input in planning processes
  • Support the implementation of environmentally friendly and socially responsible development projects
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices through continued learning and professional development
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work culture that values diversity and equality
