Senior Town Planner
Location: London, hybrid working

I'm currently working with an ambitious, independent planning and development consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Town Planner to join its London team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit, highly experienced consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality development projects and creating places that have a lasting positive impact. Working across a diverse portfolio of schemes, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, build strong client relationships and play a key role in shaping the built environment.

The Opportunity
You'll be joining a collaborative team of planning and development professionals, working with a broad range of clients, including developers, landowners and public sector organisations.

The consultancy works across a variety of sectors, including residential, build-to-rent, student accommodation, commercial, industrial, logistics, regeneration and mixed-use development. Projects range from complex urban schemes to large-scale strategic developments, providing plenty of variety and scope to develop your expertise.
As a Senior Town Planner, you'll take the lead on planning projects from initial feasibility and strategy through to the submission and determination of planning applications. You'll work closely with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary consultant teams to navigate the planning process and secure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
·Manage and deliver a varied portfolio of planning projects across multiple sectors.
·Prepare and coordinate planning applications, statements and supporting documentation.
·Develop effective planning strategies to support development proposals and maximise site potential.
·Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local planning authorities and external consultants.
·Provide commercially aware planning advice, identifying opportunities and managing potential risks.
·Support the promotion of development sites and contribute to the delivery of complex projects.

I'm keen to speak with experienced planning professionals who are looking for their next step within a progressive consultancy environment.

You'll ideally have:
·A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
·Several years of experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or relevant development environment.
·Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and experience managing planning applications.
·Experience working on residential, mixed-use, commercial or other development-led projects.
·The confidence to manage client relationships and engage effectively with stakeholders.
·A proactive, commercially minded approach and a genuine interest in placemaking and sustainable development.
RTPI membership or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
