This is an excellent opportunity to join a multidisciplined national consultancy who provide a wide range of expertise to high-profile projects across the UK. They are on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic Town Planner to join their growing team in their Manchester studio.

Duties for the role of Town Planner:

  • Preparing and coordinating planning applications, planning statements, reports and supporting documentation
  • Undertaking site appraisals, planning policy reviews and assessments of development potential
  • Advising clients on planning strategy, policy requirements and potential development constraints
  • Supporting the promotion of land through the local plan process and contributing to planning appeals where required
  • Liaising with local planning authorities, clients, consultants and other key stakeholders
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary colleagues to develop practical, commercially viable planning solution

Requirements for the role of Town Planner:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Experience in a planning consultancy, local authority or similar planning environment
  • A sound understanding of the UK planning system, planning policy and development management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, well-structured reports
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive, commercially aware approach to problem-solving
  • Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders
  • Achieved or working towards RTPI membership
