A Local Authority in the East of England is looking for a well-seasoned Heritage Officer to support heritage and conservation projects across the borough.
The council is flexible with working arrangements and offers hybrid work, with the option to come into the office every other week if required.
You may be required to:
- Provide specialist conservation and heritage advice on planning applications, pre-application enquiries and appeals.
- Assess proposals affecting listed buildings, conservation areas, scheduled monuments and other heritage assets.
- Produce written heritage assessments, consultation responses and committee reports.
- Advise planning officers, councillors and applicants on heritage legislation and policy.
- Monitor works to heritage assets and support enforcement investigations where required.
- Contribute to conservation area appraisals, management plans and heritage-led regeneration projects.
- Represent the authority at planning committees, hearings and public inquiries where necessary.
- Liaise with Historic England, local heritage groups, developers, architects and consultees.
This is an initial 6 month contract and may even be extended.
