Duties for the role of Graduate Town Planner:
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications
- Undertaking planning research, policy reviews and site appraisals
- Assisting with planning statements, appeal documents and other technical reports
- Supporting the promotion of strategic development sites through the planning system
- Researching local and national planning policy and emerging legislation
- Liaising with clients, local planning authorities, consultants and other stakeholders
- Attending site visits, meetings and planning committees where appropriate
- Assisting senior members of the team with a varied portfolio of projects
Requirements for the role of Graduate Town Planner:
- A degree in Town Planning, Planning, Geography, Urban Planning or a related discipline
- A relevant postgraduate planning qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential
- A strong interest in the UK planning system and the development process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good research, analytical and report-writing abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider team
- A proactive, commercially minded and positive approach
- A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel to sites and client meetings as required
