This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious planner looking to take the next step in their career, with the opportunity to work on nationally significant projects, develop key client relationships and progress towards a senior leadership position.

The Role

Working closely with Partners and senior members of the planning team, you will take responsibility for the ongoing management and delivery of a varied portfolio of planning projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting business development, work winning and marketing activity
    • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
    • Representing clients at public meetings where required
    • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team
    • Managing staff development, including timesheets, CPD, training and annual leave
    • Quality controlling project outputs in line with established QA procedures
    • Working collaboratively across a multi-disciplinary professional services environment
    • Contributing to the wider strategic development and growth of the planning business

The Candidate

You’ll ideally have:

  • Chartered membership of the RTPI
    • Strong experience within planning consultancy or a similar professional environment
    • Proven experience managing planning projects and client relationships
    • Strong technical planning knowledge
    • Excellent report writing and communication skills
    • A commercially focused and entrepreneurial approach
    • The confidence to build and nurture long-term client relationships
    • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
    • A strategic approach to problem solving
    • A genuine ambition to progress your career and contribute to business growth

The Package

  • Competitive salary
    • Performance-related bonus
    • Flexible and hybrid working
    • 32 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays
    • Birthday leave and dedicated wellbeing day
    • Private healthcare
    • Medicash cashback scheme
    • 50% gym membership contribution
    • Cycle to work scheme
    • Life assurance
    • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
    • RTPI membership support
    • Structured CPD and professional development
    • Clear career progression and leadership opportunities

Why This Opportunity?

This role offers more than simply project delivery. You’ll have the autonomy to manage clients and projects, influence strategic decision-making and play a key role in the continued growth of the planning team.

With access to a wider multi-disciplinary network and the opportunity to work on nationally significant projects, this is a strong opportunity for a Chartered Planner who wants to move towards senior leadership while continuing to develop their technical and commercial expertise.
