Job Title: Senior Town Planner
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

They are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Town Planner to hit the ground running for their Sheffield office.

Duties for the role of Senior Town Planner:
- Leading and managing a varied portfolio of planning projects.
- Providing high-quality planning advice to clients across a range of development sectors.
- Developing and implementing planning strategies for complex development proposals.
- Managing and coordinating planning applications from initial feasibility through to submission and determination.
- Preparing and reviewing planning reports, statements and other technical documentation.
- Liaising confidently with local planning authorities, statutory consultees and other stakeholders.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and ensuring projects remain on programme.
- Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with clients.
- Supporting business development and identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships.
- Contributing to the wider development and success of the consultancy.
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team.
Requirements for the role of Senior Town Planner:
- Relevant degree within Town Planning or another relevant discipline that is RTPI accredited
- RTPI chartership or working towards chartership
- Significant experience within a planning consultancy, developer, local authority or related environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development management process
- Experience managing planning applications and projects from inception through to determination
- Experience working on complex or high-profile development schemes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence to engage with clients, consultants, planning officers and other stakeholders at a senior level
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- A commercially minded approach and an understanding of the development process
- A genuine interest in placemaking and creating successful, sustainable places
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
