Town Planner
Location: Manchester, England
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Town Planner to join a growing planning consultancy based in central Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner to join a growing team, working on large-scale residential projects for high-profile clients, including major strategic land firms and housebuilders.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Town Planner with a strong understanding of the planning system and a genuine interest in delivering successful development projects.
You will ideally have:
- An RTPI accredited BSc/MSc, or equivalent qualification, in Planning or a related discipline such as Environmental Planning or Surveying
- Chartered status with the RTPI, or be close to achieving chartership
- Demonstrable planning experience, ideally within consultancy or a client-facing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Within the role you will:
- Prepare and submit planning applications on behalf of clients
- Draft planning statements and supporting planning documents
- Gather evidence and assist with the submission of appeals
- Assist with public inquiries
- Undertake research on local, regional and national planning policy
- Liaise with clients, local councils and stakeholders
- Deliver planning advice and support throughout the development process
