You will join a London-based Local Authority as an experienced Principal Planning Enforcement Officer, supporting the delivery of an effective Planning Enforcement Service and managing a complex caseload of high-profile enforcement matters.
 
The successful Principal Planning Enforcement Officer will be responsible for investigating breaches of planning control, determining appropriate courses of action, and progressing cases through negotiation, formal notices, and legal processes where required.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced enforcement professional who enjoys dealing with challenging and varied cases, including major development sites, Green Belt matters, Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, and complex changes of use.
 
You will work closely with Development Management team and external partners to ensure a joined-up approach to resolving breaches of planning control.
 
Role Specific
·Hybrid working available
·Initial 3-month contract
·Hourly rate - £45-50 per hour
·Significant Local Authority Planning Enforcement experience required
·Experience managing complex enforcement investigations and statutory notices essential
·Strong knowledge of planning legislation, enforcement procedures, and the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 required
·Experience with PACE interviews, appeals, hearings, and legal proceedings desirable
·Strong report writing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills required
 
Carrington West Pay Rate - £55 per hour
